ndBIT and biometrics specialist DERMALOG develop Ident method for account opening. About four years after the introduction of Video-Ident, the next revolution is in the process of establishing legitimacy for opening an account: The fintech ndBIT and the biometrics innovation leader DERMALOG have developed a procedure that enables simplified one-time legitimization based on the passport. Compared to previous authentication methods, the one-time authentication of ndBIT and DERMALOG greatly simplifies the process of opening an account. Unlike Video Ident, the process is actually automated. Appointments, typing errors, expiration dates are eliminated as annoying and expensive process steps. DERMALOG Identification Systems GmbH based in Hamburg is Germany's pioneer in biometrics and the largest German manufacturer of biometric devices and systems. In addition to the latest generation of fingerprint and document scanners, the company offers powerful Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) and Automated Biometric Identification Systems (ABIS). ndBIT is part of ND Group B.V. – a private equity and holding company based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, with a global reach and operations. One of the holding’s most well-known firms is market leader in the establishment and operation of remote site camps which are for example used in remote conflict-ridden areas. Clients include the German Armed Forces, NATO, the United Nations and the U.S. Army. The two companies met in late 2017 and decided to jointly develop and market some components of a modern customer infrastructure that has to meet high security standards. The first step is the now presented One-time authorization process.
