UPT is a payment institution licensed in Turkey and owned 100% by the Aktif Bank. Aktif Bank is the largest private sector investment bank of Turkey and it currently operates in the areas of retail banking and investment banking. UPT and bank main shareholder is CALIK Holding, which is a prominent Turkish Business group having significant investments in the areas of construction, energy, mining, finance, textile and telecom in a number of countries. UPT has started its journey with the brand UPT – Cheap Money Transfer as a department within Aktif Bank. With the expansion of our international network, we also started using UPT as “Universal Payment Transfer”. UPT has been incorporated as a separate legal entity as subsidiary of the bank. UPT acquired its license from Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) and becomes Turkey’s FIRST licensed payment institution. UPT has reached to largest domestic and international network compare to its competitors. Going forward, UPT plan to expand product range and reach to more people and corporates globally by digitalizing its services.
