Mary has more than 25 years of experience in the banking and financial services sector including leadership roles at Citi, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America. She joined the Equinix Business Development team at the start of 2017. Her role is focused on building new relationships and creating interconnection opportunities across multiple industry verticals to develop the Equinix Digital Payments Ecosystem. In this role, Mary will coordinate and build on Equinix’s existing community of banks, payment providers, payment gateways, card associations, mobile wallet providers across the region. Mary will also work to create new relationships with other key players in the ecosystem including FinTechs, regulators and professional organizations focused on advancing the opportunities for payments ompanies to accelerate their business potential. She is curious about how things work and passionate about the power of networking and describes her role from that perspective, “Equinix is in a unique position where our financial services clients know us for our network of carrier neutral data centers that protect and store their data; what we are only just beginning to uncover is the huge potential that we can offer in connecting them securely to the cloud, and even more interesting, to each other. We are perfectly positioned to help companies in the digital commerce ecosystem leverage new business models and position themselves for future capabilities. My job is to make introductions between the players so that the interconnection can happen and they can in turn deliver an enhanced user experience.” Prior to joining Equinix Mary served as the Vice President of Financial Services for Nielsen. There she helped to develop a new vertical for the company and was responsible for creating new products and services that supported the sale of consumer research and insights to financial services companies. Prior to joining Nielsen, Mary served as the Chief Operating Officer for Citi’s transaction bank in Asia. During her 14 year tenure at Citi, Mary worked in retail banking and wealth management, Foreign Exchange and Capital Markets, and Global Transaction Services in both the US and Asia. Mary received an MBA with honors in Marketing Management from DePaul University in Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Marquette University. She is a strong advocate for advancing women in leadership and is a mentor alumni of The Women’ s Foundation Hong Kong, current guru for a Lean In Circle and most recently launched a new Hong Kong based women in tech network, TOGEther, with women leaders from Telstra, Oracle, Google and Equinix.
